The Society of Product Safety Professionals, SPSP, and its web site www.productsafetyprofessionals.org is a membership organization dedicated to the advancement of the profession of product safety through education, professional development, and certification. As such, we maintain programs and policies that respect the privacy of its members and website visitors. The SPSP website collects data only to better serve members and other users of our website.

Information Collected by SPSP

Individual information, including contact information and demographics, is gathered from members, associate members, candidates for personal certification examination, conference registrants and others. Information submitted online may be used for other SPSP marketing uses, such as email and mail notifications of upcoming events that match the interests you provide us. This information is submitted voluntarily.

Disclosures to Third Parties

SPSP does not sell or rent member, associate member, or certificate candidate personal information to anyone except when:

  • We have your consent to share the information;
  • We share your information to provide the product or service you requested; or
  • We send the information to companies working on behalf of SPSP to provide a product or service.

Companies that receive personal information from SPSP in order to execute the businesses of SPSP are instructed to use personal information only for that purpose.

Credit Card Account Information

Members, associate members, and certification candidates may pay for the services of SPSP by check or by credit card. SPSP does not disclose credit card account information provided by its members, associate members, or certification candidates. When individuals choose to pay using their credit cards, SPSP submits only the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse.
